TORKEL 900-series

The TORKEL™ 900 series is used to perform load/discharge testing which is the only way to determine battery systems actual capacity. Together with the optional cell voltage logger, BVM, connected directly to the TORKEL 900, it becomes a complete, stand-alone, discharge test system. TORKEL has 3 models, TORKEL™ 910, 930 and 950, see brochure.




Extra Load: TXL 830/850/870/890

If a higher current is needed, two or more TORKEL units or extra load units TXL, can be linked together. These resistive extra loads do not perform any regulating functions. They are designed to use together with TORKEL Battery Load Units. TXL Extra Loads are connected directly to the battery and TORKEL measures the total current using a clamp-on ammeter. TXL are shut down automatically when TORKEL is stopped.

Battery Impedance Test - BITE 3

The Megger BITE 3 Battery Impedance Test Equipment determines the health of lead-acid cells up to 2000 Ah by taking measurements of the most important battery parameters. The BITE 3 measures cell impedance, an internal ohmic test, cell voltage, intercell connection resistance and ripple current. And the BITE 3 measures float current and the harmonic content of the ripple current. There is even a built-in spectrum analyzer to show the harmonic content of the ripple current.




TORKEL 820, 840, 860 are obsolete and in service status.

Battery Capacity Test: TORKEL 840/860

Batteries in power plants and transformer substations must provide the equipment they serve with standby power in the event of a power failure. The capacity of such batteries can drop significantly for a number of reasons before their calculated life expectancy is reached. This is why it is so important the check batteries at regular intervals, and the only reliable way of measuring battery capacity is to conduct a discharge test. TORKEL 840 UTILITY is used for battery systems ranging from 12 to 250 V. Discharging can take place at up to 110 A, TORKEL 860 is used for systems ranging from 12 to 480 V, and discharging can proceed at up to 110 A.

Battery Test: TORKEL 820 (Telecom)

During a power outage, crucial telecommunication equipment must be kept operating by batteries. The capacity of such batteries can drop significantly for a number of reasons before their calculated life expectancy is reached. Battery capacity should thus be checked to prevent expensive downtime in the event of a power failure. The most reliable way to determine battery capacity is to conduct a discharge test. Using TORKEL 820 you can discharge 24 and 48 V batteries at a current of 270 A, and 12 V batteries at 135 A.






Accu Management

Professional handheld data loggers. It is perfectly adapted to all battery related measurement tasks, such as block voltage and resistance measurements. Applying a temperature sensor or an electronic density meter enhances the functionality of the instrument significantly.
